Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2013 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 8 BY SENATOR WALSWORTH A RESOLUTION To designate April 10, 2013, as "YMCA Day in Louisiana". WHEREAS, YMCA's commitment is to nurture the potential of kids, promote healthy living, and foster a sense of social responsibility; and WHEREAS, YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility unite us as a movement and guide our behavior, interactions with each other, and decision-making; and WHEREAS, more than 100,000 children and adults throughout the state in Louisiana YMCAs have access to the essentials necessary to learn, grow, and thrive; and WHEREAS, Louisiana's YMCAs support the development of integrated, community-based strategies for serving children and families; and WHEREAS, Louisiana's YMCAs stand ready to support state government efforts to provide developmental programs for youth, strengthen families, and mobilize and coordinate broad efforts to support children and families through partnerships that meet community needs; and WHEREAS, on April 10, 2013, representatives of Louisiana's YMCAs will meet in the Louisiana State Capitol with their representatives and senators to discuss and exchange ideas on issues facing youths and families. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate April 10, 2013, as "YMCA Day in Louisiana". PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
