AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 37:1291(6), relative to physicians who attend to out-of-state athletic teams;2
to provide for exemptions to certain physician licensure requirements in specified3
cases; to provide for construction; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 37:1291(6) is hereby enacted to read as follows:6
ยง1291.  Exemptions7
None of the provisions of this Part shall apply to:8

(6)(a) An individual licensed to practice medicine in another state or country10
when he attends to the acute care needs of the official traveling party of athletes and staff11
of an athletic team or organization domiciled in another state or country during or in12
connection with an athletic contest or event conducted in this state.13
(b) The exemption provided in this Paragraph shall not be construed to allow the14
performance of any elective procedure by a physician who is not duly licensed to practice15
medicine in accordance with the provisions of this Part.16
