Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 113 BY REPRESENTATIVE HENRY BURNS COURTS/COURT REPORTERS: Provides for reciprocity of court reporter certification AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 37:2554.1, relative to court reporters; to authorize the Louisiana Board of2 Examiners of Certified Shorthand Reporters to recognize certain certificates or3 licenses from other states; to provide for qualifications; and to provide for related4 matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 37:2554.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง2554.1. Board of Examiners of Certified Shorthand Reporters to recognize, grant, or issue any certification or license to an applicant holding a valid certificate or license recognized or issued in another state without an examination in this state. Proposed law requires that the certificate or license in question is based upon an examination or other requirements substantially equivalent to or greater than the requirements provided by this Chapter and any other requirements prescribed by the board.
