APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment in the
matter of "Louisiana Probation and Parole Officers Association v. The Louisiana
State Legislature"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2014-2
2015 to be used to satisfy the judgment in the suit entitled "Louisiana Probation and3
Parole Officers Association v. The Louisiana State Legislature"; and to provide for4
related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. The sum of Three Million Seven Hundred Twenty-Two Thousand Three7
Hundred Fifteen and No/100 ($3,722,315.00) Dollars is hereby appropriated out of the8
General Fund of the state of Louisiana for deposit into the Adult Probation and Parole9
Officers Retirement Fund, established by R.S. 11:546, for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 to be used10
to satisfy the judgment in the suit entitled "Louisiana Probation and Parole Officers11
Association v. The Louisiana State Legislature", bearing Number 623,068, Section 23, on12
the docket of the Nineteenth Judicial District Court, parish of East Baton Rouge, state of13
Louisiana.14
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2014; if vetoed by the governor15
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,16
2014, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 17 HLS 14RS-1003 ORIGINAL
