INSURANCE/GROUP-PUBLI C:  Provides relative to the payment of health insurance
premiums for district attorneys
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 16:516(E), relative to the payment of group insurance premium costs for2
certain district attorneys; to provide for eligibility for payment of such costs for3
retired district attorneys and assistant district attorneys for the Sixteenth Judicial4
District; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 16:516(E) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง516.  Health insurance; retired district attorneys; certain judicial districts8

E.  The premium costs of group health insurance for any district attorney or10
assistant district attorney in and for the Sixteenth Judicial District who retired with11
at least twenty-four years of full-time service, regardless of age, shall be paid in full12
from the district attorney's general fund in accordance with the health benefits as13
they exist during the term of retirement of the district attorney or assistant district14

Abstract: Provides for eligibility for payment of group insurance premium costs for district
attorneys and assistant district attorneys retiring from the 16th Judicial District.
Proposed law requires the premium costs of group health insurance to be paid in full by the
district attorney for the 16th Judicial District from the district attorney's general fund for all
district attorneys and assistant district attorneys who retire with at least 24 years of full-time
service, regardless of age.
Proposed law requires the payment of the premium costs to be paid in accordance with the
health benefits as they exist during the term of retirement for the district attorney or assistant
district attorney.
