Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 608 BY REPRESENTATIVE ABRAMSON CONTRACTS: Prohibits anti-indemnity provisions from applying to certain governmental contracts AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 9:2780.1(F), relative to motor carrier transportation contracts and2 construction contracts; to provide an exception to the anti-indemnity provisions for3 contracts to which the state or its political subdivisions is a party; and to provide for4 related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 9:2780.1(F) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง2780.1. Present law prohibits anti-indemnity provisions in certain contracts. Present law further provides an exception to the prohibition for certain contracts entered into prior to January 1, 2011. Proposed law retains present law and provides that the requirements of present law do not apply to contracts to which the state or any of its political subdivisions is a party.
