HLS 14RS-786 ORIGINAL Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 609 BY REPRESENTATIVE ABRAMSON PROPERTY/PUBLIC: Provides with respect to state property in Orleans parish AN ACT1 To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer2 of certain state property in Orleans Parish; to provide for reservation of mineral3 rights; to provide terms and conditions; to provide an effective date; and to provide4 for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. The commissioner of administration, notwithstanding any other provision7 of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease,8 or deliver any interest, excluding mineral rights, the state may have to all or any portion of9 a parcel of state property in Orleans Parish.10 Section 2. The commissioner of administration is hereby authorized to enter into11 such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and to execute such documents as12 necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer, assignment, lease, or delivery of13 title, excluding mineral rights, to the property described in Section 1 of this Act, and as more14 specifically described in any such agreements entered into and documents executed by the15 commissioner of administration, in exchange of consideration proportionate to the appraised16 value of the property.17 Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not18 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature19 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
