Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 704 BY REPRESENTATIVE EDWARDS INSURANCE/HEALTH: Requires health insurers to accept Ryan White funds in payment of premiums AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 22:980.1, relative to premium payments by third parties; to require health2 insurers to accept third-party premium payments made pursuant to the federal Ryan3 White HIV/AIDS Program; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 22:980.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6 ยง980.1. Third-party premium payments7 No health insurer regulated by this Part shall refuse to accept third-party8 premium payments made pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 300ff-26.9 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not10 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature11 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
