ACT No. 637 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 789 BY REPRESENTATIVE MORENO AND SENATOR MORRELL AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 33:1375, relative to the city of New Orleans; to provide relative to ordinances2 enacted by the governing authority of the city; to establish maximum penalties for3 the violation of such ordinances; to provide exceptions; and to provide for related4 matters.5 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published6 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of7 Louisiana.8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:9 Section 1. R.S. 33:1375 is hereby enacted to read as follows:10 ยง1375. Maximum penalties; city of New Orleans11 Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, in the city of12 New Orleans, the maximum penalty which may be imposed for a first offense13 violation of any ordinance enacted by the governing authority of the city shall be a14 fine of five hundred dollars. For the second or any subsequent offense, the15 maximum penalty which may be imposed shall be one thousand dollars.
