Abstract: Increases the number of Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana officers eligible for state
supplemental pay from 13 to 20.
Present law provides that every police officer employed by a municipality or certain tribe who
works full-time on law enforcement, and, if hired after March 31, 1986, is P.O.S.T.-certified,
shall be eligible for supplemental pay from the state in the amount of $500 per month. 
Present law limits the number of tribal officers of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana eligible
for state supplemental pay to no more than 13 such law enforcement officers.
Proposed law increases the maximum number from 13 to 20 such law enforcement officers.
Proposed law specifies the provisions of proposed law are remedial and curative and to be
applied retroactively and prospectively.  Authorizes the board of review to certify back pay for
any tribal officers of the Tunica-Biloxi officers who had received supplemental pay prior to June
30, 2013, and were removed as of that date.
Effective on July 1, 2014.
