Abstract: Requires training for members of board or commissions of regional transit authorities.
Proposed law requires all appointed members of a board or a commission of a regional transit
authority receive at least six hours of training either prior to taking office or no later than 1 year
from taking office.
Proposed law requires the training be approved by the parish or municipal governing authority of
the jurisdiction where the transit authority is located.
Proposed law provides that the training include the duties, responsibilities, ethics, and substance
of the position held or to be held.
Proposed law provides that proposed law shall only apply to members appointed to such boards
or commissions on or after Jan. 1, 2015.
