BOARDS/COMMISSIONS:  Provides relative to training requirements for board members
of transit authorities
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 48:236, relative to transit authorities; to provide for training for certain2
members of board or commissions of regional transit authorities; and to provide for3
related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 48:236 is hereby enacted to read as follows:6
ยง236.  Transit authorities; training7
A. All appointed members of a board or a commission of a regional transit8
authority shall receive at least six hours of training either prior to taking office or no9
later than one year from taking office. The training shall be approved by the parish10
or municipal governing authority of the jurisdiction where the transit authority is11
located and shall include the duties, responsibilities, ethics, and substance of the12
position held or to be held.13
B. The provisions of this Section shall only apply to members appointed to14
