BY REPRESENTATIVES SHADOIN AND JEFFERSON AND SENATOR GALLOT
COMMENDATIONS: Commends Ruston Florist and Boutique upon being recognized as
Business of the Year by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Ruston Florist and Boutique upon being named Business of the Year by the2
Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.3
WHEREAS, Ruston Florist and Boutique is owned and operated by Dennis and4
Debbie Allen and has provided high-quality service to the Ruston area for over thirty-two5
years; and6
WHEREAS, Ruston Florist and Boutique recently relocated to a new venue that7
includes women's clothing and accessories, home décor, bath and body products, baby's8
clothing, and Michael Marcus cosmetics; and9
WHEREAS, the owners and staff of Ruston Florist and Boutique have won numerous10
awards and accolades and have been featured in multiple magazines and periodicals11
including Southern Living and Flowers and Florists' Review; and12
WHEREAS, Ruston Florist and Boutique holds and sponsors several community13
service and enhancement events throughout the year, including a blood drive that collects14
blood for patients in the surrounding communities; "Can Child Hunger", a canned goods15
food drive for the hungry; and "Make Someone Smile" week, an event in which the boutique16
staff delivers free flowers to the residents of nursing homes in the area; and17
WHEREAS, the owners and staff of Ruston Florist and Boutique merits a sincere18
measure of commendation for the extraordinary service they provide to the residents of19
Lincoln Parish and for the beautiful flower arrangements that have enhanced the lives of the20

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby1
commend Dennis and Debbie Allen, owners and operators of Ruston Florist and Boutique,2
upon receiving the distinct honor of being named Business of the Year by the Ruston-3
Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, does hereby recognize the positive influence and4
contribution that Ruston Florist and Boutique continues to make on the business, industry,5
and economy of Lincoln Parish, does hereby extend appreciation for the tremendous pride6
that the owners and staff bring to all who know them, and does hereby extend to Ruston7
Florist and Boutique, its owners, and employees, every wish for continued success and8
prosperity for many years to come.9
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted10
to Dennis and Debbie Allen, owners and operators of Ruston Florist and Boutique.11
