HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 120

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Ruston Florist and Boutique upon being named Business of the Year by the
Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.
WHEREAS, Ruston Florist and Boutique is owned and operated by Dennis and
Debbie Allen and has provided high-quality service to the Ruston area for over thirty-two
years; and
WHEREAS, Ruston Florist and Boutique recently relocated to a new venue that
includes women's clothing and accessories, home décor, bath and body products, babies'
clothing, and Michael Marcus cosmetics; and
WHEREAS, the owners and staff of Ruston Florist and Boutique have won numerous
awards and accolades and have been featured in multiple magazines and periodicals
including Southern Living and Flowers and Florists' Review; and
WHEREAS, Ruston Florist and Boutique holds and sponsors several community
service and enhancement events throughout the year, including a blood drive that collects
blood for patients in the surrounding communities; "Can Child Hunger", a canned goods
food drive for the hungry; and "Make Someone Smile" week, an event in which the boutique
staff delivers free flowers to the residents of nursing homes in the area; and
WHEREAS, the owners and staff of Ruston Florist and Boutique merit a sincere
measure of commendation for the extraordinary service they provide to the residents of
Lincoln Parish and for the beautiful flower arrangements that have enhanced the lives of the
community's citizens for well over thirty years. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 120

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Dennis and Debbie Allen, owners and operators of Ruston Florist and Boutique,
upon receiving the distinct honor of being named Business of the Year by the Ruston-
Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, does hereby recognize the positive influence and
contribution that Ruston Florist and Boutique continues to make on the business, industry,
and economy of Lincoln Parish, does hereby extend appreciation for the tremendous pride
that the owners and staff bring to all who know them, and does hereby extend to Ruston
Florist and Boutique, its owners, and employees, every wish for continued success and
prosperity for many years to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Dennis and Debbie Allen, owners and operators of Ruston Florist and Boutique.
