HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 133
BY REPRESENTATIVE ADAMS
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Dr. Gerard LeBlanc and Thomas Jefferson High School for Advanced Studies
in Gretna for receiving the top ranking among high schools within the state of
Louisiana.
WHEREAS, according to the United States News and World Report, Thomas
Jefferson High School for Advanced Studies has achieved the number one ranking for high
schools within the state of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the United States News and World Report reviewed over thirty-one
thousand United States schools and eighty-five Louisiana schools made the rankings; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Jefferson High School for Advanced Studies is one of thirteen
high schools in the Jefferson Parish Public School System and has a student body of over
four hundred students; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Jefferson High School for Advanced Studies is committed to
instilling excellence in its students by providing them the opportunity to take Advanced
Placement course work and exams; and
WHEREAS, the Advanced Placement rate at Thomas Jefferson High School for
Advanced Studies is fifty-eight percent; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Gerard LeBlanc, principal of Thomas Jefferson High School for
Advanced Studies, merits a special measure of commendation for his energy and talents to
the full development of the students of Thomas Jefferson High School for Advanced Studies. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 133

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Thomas Jefferson High School for Advanced Studies and principal, Dr. Gerard
LeBlanc, for receiving the top ranking among high schools within the state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Dr. Gerard LeBlanc, principal of Thomas Jefferson High School for Advanced Studies.
