A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to decrease the
speed limit on a portion of Louisiana Highway 406 in Belle Chasse, Plaquemines
Parish.
WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway 406 in Belle Chasse, from Planters Canal Road to
Louisiana Highway 23, travels through a densely populated rural area with multiple cross
streets; and
WHEREAS, the current speed limit is fifty-five miles per hour.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
urge and request that the Department of Transportation and Development decrease the speed
limit on the portion of Louisiana Highway 406 in Belle Chasse, Plaquemines Parish from
fifty-five miles per hour to forty-five miles per hour and erect the proper signage to reflect
the decrease in speed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to the secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development.
