ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 90 BY REPRESENTATIVE HOFFMANN A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To recognize Wednesday, April 23, 2014, as YMCA Day in Louisiana. WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend the volunteers and members of the Louisiana YMCA and to recognize Wednesday, April 23, 2014, as YMCA Day in Louisiana; and WHEREAS, one of the YMCA's core commitment's is to nurture the potential of kids, promote healthy living, and foster a sense of social responsibility; and WHEREAS, the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility unite volunteers and members as a movement and guide individuals' behavior, interactions with each other, and decision making; and WHEREAS, more than one hundred thousand children and adults throughout the state have access to the essentials necessary to learn, grow, and thrive; and WHEREAS, Louisiana's YMCAs support the development of integrated, community- based strategies for serving children and families; and WHEREAS, Louisiana's YMCAs stand ready to support state government efforts to provide developmental programs for youth, strengthen families, and mobilize and coordinate broad efforts to support children and families through partnerships that meet community needs; and WHEREAS, on April 23, 2014, representatives of Louisiana's YMCAs will meet in the Louisiana State Capitol with their representatives and senators to discuss and exchange ideas on issues facing youth and families. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby recognize Wednesday, April 23, 2014, as YMCA Day in Louisiana and does hereby commend the members and volunteers of Louisiana's YMCAs for their dedication to families throughout the state.
