HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 153
BY REPRESENTATIVE SHADOIN
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Cedar Creek School girls' softball team upon winning the 2014 Class 1A
state championship title and to congratulate the Lady Cougars on an outstanding
2013-2014 season.
WHEREAS, the Cedar Creek School girls' softball team captured the 2014 Class 1A
title in a 6-0 victory over the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs at the Louisiana High School
Athletic Association's Fast Pitch 56 state championship softball tournament; which was its
first state title since 1994; and
WHEREAS, the Cedar Creek School girls' softball team became the lowest-seed in
the history of Class 1A to win a state championship; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Julie Riser and assistant coaches Gloria Riser, Lauren
Kirkland, Krista Howard, and Rachel Marcus have given the players the necessary skills to
become great softball players and outstanding members in their community by
demonstrating motivational leadership to produce winners on or off the field; and
WHEREAS, each of the following Lady Cougars performed at the highest level of
excellence throughout the season and playoffs and deserves recognition for her vital
contributions to the winning effort; Cecilia Akin, Nicole Brasher, Logan Brown, Kateline
Cooper, Haley Gray, Mary Julia Klug, Christin Moore, Sydney Moore, Elizabeth Kate
Pardue, Caley Pyles, Hallie Rambin, Anna Larr Roberson, Halie Robinson, Harlie Robinson,
Marry Terral, Gabbie Turner, and Lauren Wade; and
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season upholds the glorious tradition of the Lady
Cougars, and all Cedar Creek School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and
distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state. ENROLLEDHR NO. 153

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Cedar Creek School girls' softball team
upon winning the 2014 Class 1A state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to
the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine softball program as they celebrate
their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Head Coach Julie Riser.
