COMMENDATIONS: Commends Susy Lemoine upon receiving the Women with Heart
Award presented by the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way Women's Leadership
Council
A RESOLUTION1
To commend Susy Lemoine of Evangeline Parish upon her receipt of a 2014 Women with2
Heart Award from the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way Women's Leadership3
Council.4
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Susy Lemoine upon her receipt of a 20145
Women with Heart Award from the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way Women's6
Leadership Council and to recognize her vital contributions to the citizens of Louisiana as7
an active and dedicated community servant; and8
WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine currently serves as the outreach coordinator and grant9
writer for the Evangeline Parish Library System; and10
WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine has been recognized before for her outstanding11
community service; she was named Woman of the Year in 2012 by the Ville Platte Chamber12
of Commerce, received the Leader in Philanthropy Award for Evangeline Parish from the13
Community Foundation of Acadiana in 2013, and was also named Colonel Cotton by the14
Louisiana Cotton Festival Board; and15
WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine was recognized for her hard work, diligence, and16
dedication to Evangeline Parish and for her service as an unofficial ambassador for her17
community; and18
WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine has been very active in many special projects that have19
benefitted Evangeline Parish and the Acadiana region for many years; and20 HLS 14RS-1056 ORIGINAL

WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine's success in grant writing have made it possible for the1
parish library to provide the same high-quality programs for summer reading at each of the2
six library locations throughout the parish; and3
WHEREAS, Susy Lemoine is a remarkable woman of tremendous skill and4
compassion who represents all that is good about Louisiana and whose goodness of heart has5
touched the lives of countless individuals; and6
WHEREAS, Susy Lemoine merits a sincere and heartfelt measure of commendation7
for her dedication to excellence and her outstanding accomplishments. 8
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the9
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Susy Lemoine upon her receipt of a 201410
Women with Heart Award from the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way Women's11
Leadership Council; does hereby recognize and record for posterity her singular12
contributions to the citizens of Louisiana as an active and dedicated community servant; and13
does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the tremendous honor and pride that she brings14
to her family and friends, the parish of Evangeline, the Acadiana region, and the state of15
Louisiana.16
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted17
to Susy Lemoine.18
