HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 20
BY REPRESENTATIVE LEBAS
A RESOLUTION
To commend Susy Lemoine of Evangeline Parish upon her receipt of a 2014 Women with
Heart Award from the St. Landry-Evangeli ne United Way Women's Leadership
Council.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend Susy Lemoine upon her receipt of a 2014
Women with Heart Award from the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way Women's
Leadership Council and to recognize her vital contributions to the citizens of Louisiana as
an active and dedicated community servant; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine currently serves as the outreach coordinator and grant
writer for the Evangeline Parish Library System; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine has been recognized before for her outstanding
community service; she was named Woman of the Year in 2012 by the Ville Platte Chamber
of Commerce, received the Leader in Philanthropy Award for Evangeline Parish from the
Community Foundation of Acadiana in 2013, and was also named Colonel Cotton by the
Louisiana Cotton Festival Board; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine was recognized for her hard work, diligence, and
dedication to Evangeline Parish and for her service as an unofficial ambassador for her
community; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine has been very active in many special projects that have
benefitted Evangeline Parish and the Acadiana region for many years; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Lemoine's success in grant writing has made it possible for the
parish library to provide the same high-quality programs for summer reading at each of the
six library locations throughout the parish; and
WHEREAS, Susy Lemoine is a remarkable woman of tremendous skill and
compassion who represents all that is good about Louisiana and whose goodness of heart has
touched the lives of countless individuals; and ENROLLEDHR NO. 20

WHEREAS, Susy Lemoine merits a sincere and heartfelt measure of commendation
for her dedication to excellence and her outstanding accomplishments.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Susy Lemoine upon her receipt of a 2014
Women with Heart Award from the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way Women's
Leadership Council; does hereby recognize and record for posterity her singular
contributions to the citizens of Louisiana as an active and dedicated community servant; and
does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the tremendous honor and pride that she brings
to her family and friends, the parish of Evangeline, the Acadiana region, and the state of
Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Susy Lemoine.
