HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 45
BY REPRESENTATIVES LORUSSO, HENRY, AND LEGER
A RESOLUTION
To commend Father Raymond Fitzgerald, S.J., for his remarkable contributions to Jesuit
High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, and to extend to him best wishes of the
legislature for health and happiness in the future.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that a sincere measure of commendation be expressed
to Father Fitzgerald for his extraordinary dedication as president of Jesuit High School in
New Orleans; and
WHEREAS, Father Fitzgerald was born and raised in New Orleans and graduated
from Jesuit High School in 1976 where he was active in the Christian Life Community, the
Chess Club, and the Quiz Bowl Team; and
WHEREAS, in the fall of 2011, Father Fitzgerald returned to his beloved alma mater
as president of Jesuit High School; and
WHEREAS, being president of Jesuit High School was a dream of Father Fitzgerald
that he was able to fulfill; he will complete his term as president of Jesuit High School at the
end of the 2013-2014 school year; and
WHEREAS, Father Fitzgerald has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
and remains positive that he will continue to live each day with a sense of hope and strength;
and
WHEREAS, Father Fitzgerald has instilled in the faculty and students of Jesuit High
School an enormous amount of joy and encouragement to succeed.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Father Raymond Fitzgerald, S.J., upon the
completion of his term as president of Jesuit High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, does
hereby recognize his highly dedicated service over the past three years in this vital position,
and does hereby wish him health and happiness in his future. ENROLLEDHR NO. 45

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Father Raymond Fitzgerald, S.J.
