ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 48 BY REPRESENTATIVES LORUSSO, ADAMS, BILLIOT, CONNICK, GISCLAIR, HENRY, LEOPOLD, LOPINTO, STOKES, TALBOT, WILLMOTT, AND WOODRUFF A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the Louisiana House of Representatives upon the death of Stewart Sheng of Metairie, Louisiana, and to recognize and record his many contributions to his community of Jefferson Parish and to Louisiana. WHEREAS, Stewart Sheng was born in Utica, New York, on May 20, 1966; after he met his wife, Jefferson Parish Councilwoman Cynthia Lee-Sheng, in Washington, D.C., the couple moved to Louisiana in 1999, out of a desire to be closer to extended family and to raise a family of their own; and WHEREAS, Stewart Sheng was an educated engineer who desired to work more directly with people; he was employed for ten years at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans and worked for the past several years at the Hartwig Moss Insurance Agency as an insurance agent; and WHEREAS, Stewart Sheng's passion to work directly with people was evident in his establishment of the Bayou Boys' Volleyball Club in 2010, which is a program to coach young boys between the ages of eight and fifteen in volleyball skills; and WHEREAS, Mr. Sheng will continue to be remembered as an effusive, warm person who would light up any room because of his ability to bring laughter to everyone; and WHEREAS, Stewart Sheng was an outgoing man who enjoyed fishing trips with his father-in-law, the late Sheriff Harry Lee of Jefferson Parish; and WHEREAS, Stewart Sheng's passion for his children, family, and baking delicious Crescent City Bread Pudding will forever be remembered because he was a man who influenced others by his dynamic spirit; and ENROLLEDHR NO. 48 Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, the members of the Louisiana House of Representatives wish to recognize Mr. Sheng for his numerous contributions to Jefferson Parish, and especially wish to convey their deepest sympathy to his family: his wife of over fifteen years, Cynthia Lee- Sheng; his loving children, Gavin and Miranda Sheng; his siblings, Tai Sheng and Hilton Sheng; his nieces and nephews, Ryan, Ashley, Hunter, Sarah, Caroline, and Harrison Sheng; and his mother-in-law, Lai B. Lee. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express its sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of Stewart Sheng.
