HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 52
BY REPRESENTATIVE JEFFERSON
A RESOLUTION
To commend Shlonte' Allen on her outstanding 2013-2014 basketball season.
WHEREAS, Shlonte' Allen is a native of Arcadia and is a sophomore standout on
the Trinity Valley Community College women's basketball team; and
WHEREAS, Shlonte' broke a school record that had stood for nearly thirty years
when she scored fifty-two points in Trinity Valley's win over Panola; her record-setting night
topped the previous record of fifty points in a single game that was set by Portia Hill, who
is now a member of the Trinity Valley Sports Hall of Fame, in 1988; and
WHEREAS, over the 2013-2014 season, Shlonte' averaged 15.8 points per game in
thirty-three games and has scored a total of five hundred twenty-two points this season; and
WHEREAS, Shlonte' has made one hundred one steals, fifty-two assists, seventy-
seven turnovers, and twenty-nine blocks; and
WHEREAS, Shlonte' merits a special measure of commendation for her
extraordinary accomplishments this season as she continues to break records and rise as one
of college basketball's biggest stars.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Shlonte' Allen on her outstanding season
with the Trinity Valley Community College women's basketball team, does hereby record
for posterity her record-breaking stats that she continues to post, and does hereby recognize
the tremendous pride and honor that she brings to Arcadia, Bienville Parish, and the entire

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Shlonte' Allen.
