HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 59
BY REPRESENTATIVES ROBIDEAUX, BARRAS, STUART BISHOP, NANCY
LANDRY, TERRY LANDRY, MONTOUCET, ORTEGO, AND PI ERRE
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Acadiana High School football team upon winning the 2013 Class 5A
Louisiana State Football Championship.
WHEREAS, the Acadiana High School football team completed an outstanding
season in 2013, when they earned the title of Class 5A State Champions; and
WHEREAS, the Acadiana High School football team defeated the Parkway High
School football team with a final score of 77-41 in the thrilling 2013 championship game;
and
WHEREAS, the football team holds an all-classes state record of seventy-seven
points scored in the championship game; and
WHEREAS, the Acadiana High School football team surpassed a twenty-year old
all-class state rushing record by rushing for six hundred thirty-four yards in the
championship game, and scored an average of thirty-eight points per game throughout the
fifteen-game season; and
WHEREAS, the Acadiana High School football team performed at high levels of
excellence throughout the season by finishing 14-1 overall, 7-0 in district play, 8-0 at home
games, 5-0 at away games, and 1-1 at neutral game sites; and
WHEREAS, upon winning the 2013 Class 5A State Championship, the Acadiana
High School football team finished the 2013 season as being ranked number sixty-one

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate the members of the
Acadiana High School football team and coaches for winning the 2013 Class 5A State
Football Championship, and for completing a successful season through such dedicated
performance, which has brought honor and pride to their school and the Acadiana
community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Head Coach Ted Davidson of the 2013 Acadiana High School football team.
