Regular Session, 2014 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 138 BY SENATOR MILLS AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 32:412(M) and R.S. 40:1321(M), relative to drivers' licenses and special2 identification cards; to provide for the exhibition of the logo of any Louisiana3 university on a driver's license and special identification card; to authorize collection4 of a university logo fee, if any, as established by any Louisiana university for the use5 and display of its logo; to provide for the disbursement of such logo fees collected6 to the foundation of such universities; and to provide for related matters.7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8 Section 1. R.S. 32:412(M) is hereby enacted to read as follows:9 §412. Amount of fees; credit or refund; duration of license; veteran designation;10 university logo; "I'm a Cajun" designation; disbursement of funds;11 renewal by mail or electronic commerce of Class "D" or "E" drivers'12 licenses; disposition of certain fees; exception13 * * *14 M.(1) Upon request and payment of a university logo fee, if any, as15 established by any Louisiana university for the use and display of its logo, the16 logo of the university shall be exhibited in color on the driver's license17 regardless of its class. The deputy secretary of the Department of Public Safety18 and Corrections, public safety services, shall comply with the provisions of this19 Subsection.20 (2) The department shall collect such university logo fee, if any, which21 shall be disbursed in accordance with Paragraph (3) of this Subsection. (3) Any monies received from such university logo fees shall be disbursed1 quarterly by the department to the foundation of the university.2 (4) The deputy secretary of the Department of Public Safety and3 Corrections, public safety services, shall establish such rules and regulations as4 are necessary to implement the provisions of this Subsection.5 (5) Any implementation costs shall be incurred by the foundation of the6 university participating in the university logo program.7 Section 2. R.S. 40:1321(M) is hereby enacted to read as follows:8 §1321. Special identification cards; issuance; veteran designation; university logo;9 "I'm a Cajun" designation; fees; expiration and renewal; exceptions;10 promulgation of rules; promotion of use; persons less than twenty-11 one years of age; the Protect and Save our Children Program;12 Selective Service Registration13 * * *14 M.(1) Upon request and payment of a university logo fee, if any, as15 established by a Louisiana university for the use and display of its logo, the logo16 of the university shall be exhibited in color on the special identification card.17 The deputy secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections,18 public safety services, shall comply with the provisions of this Subsection.19 (2) The department shall collect such university logo fee, if any, which20 shall be disbursed in accordance with Paragraph (3) of this Subsection.
