Regular Session, 2014 ENROLLED SENATE BILL NO. 141 BY SENATOR LONG AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 30:961(E), relative to cooperative endeavor agreements for the2 withdrawal of surface water; to extend the time frame within which opportunities for3 cooperative endeavor agreements for such withdrawal may be entered into; to4 provide terms, conditions, and requirements; and to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 30:961(E) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง961. Cooperative endeavor agreements; withdrawal of surface water; intent8 * * *9 E.(1) A cooperative endeavor agreement to withdraw running surface water,10 or an assignment of such, entered into pursuant to the provisions of this Chapter shall11 have an initial term not to exceed two years. No new cooperative endeavor12 agreement shall be entered into for which an application was received by the13 department after December 31, 2014 2016; however, except as otherwise provided14 in this Subsection, existing agreements may be renewed in two-year increments but15 shall terminate no later than December 31, 2020.16 (2) A person or entity who has entered into a cooperative endeavor agreement17 to withdraw running surface waters or has obtained an assignment of such, may18 terminate such agreement after December 31, 2014 2016.
