AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 48:1815(A) and R.S. 56:1948.5(47) and to enact R.S.2
56:1948.5(65), relative to Louisiana Byways designation; to revise certain highway,3
route, and byway district designations; to provide for the route designation of the4
Flyway Byway in Jefferson Davis Parish; to provide for an effective date; and to5
provide for related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. R.S. 48:1815(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:8
§1815. Creole Nature Trail Scenic Byway District; creation; boundaries; and purpose9
A. There is hereby created the Creole Nature Trail Scenic Byway District10
which shall be a body politic and corporate and a political subdivision of the state of11
Louisiana. The following highways and sections of highways are hereby designated12
as the Creole Nature Trail Scenic Byway District:13
Louisiana Highway 27 beginning at Sulphur in Calcasieu Parish, south to14
Hollybeach in Cameron Parish at the junction with Louisiana Highway 82; Louisiana15
Highway 82 west to the Texas state line, and east on Louisiana Highway 27/82 to16
Creole, south on Louisiana Highway 82 to Oak Grove; or alternate route thence east17
to the intersection of Louisiana Highway 27/82 with Trosclair Road, a parish road18
#357, in Cameron Parish, thence east on Trosclair Road to its intersection with19
Louisiana Highway 82 at Oak Grove; east on Louisiana Highway 82 to the20
Vermilion Parish line; Louisiana Highway 385 south beginning at the intersection21
of McNeese Street in Calcasieu Parish to Louisiana Highway 384 at Boone's Corner22
proceeding east to Louisiana Highway 27 and proceeding south on Louisiana23
Highway 27 to Creole, or alternate route on Louisiana Highway 14 in Lake Charles24
south to intersection of Louisiana Highway 27 at Holmwood proceeding south to25

Creole; or, alternate spur route, extending east from Holmwood on Louisiana1
Highway 14, through the communities of Bell City and Hayes, to Illinois Plant2
Road, and proceeding south on Illinois Plant Road to its termination on3
Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge.4

56:1948.5(65) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7

The following highways and sections of highways are hereby designated as9
Louisiana Byways:10

alternate route thence east to the intersection of Louisiana Highway 27/82 with16
Trosclair Road, a parish road #357, in Cameron Parish, thence east on Trosclair17
Road to its intersection with Louisiana Highway 82 at Oak Grove; east on18
Louisiana Highway 82 to the Vermilion Parish line; Louisiana Highway 385 south19
beginning at the intersection of McNeese Street in Calcasieu Parish to Louisiana20
Highway 384 at Boone's Corner proceeding east to Louisiana Highway 27 and21
proceeding south on Louisiana Highway 27 to Creole	, or alternate route on22
Louisiana Highway 14 in Lake Charles south to intersection of Louisiana23
Highway 27 at Holmwood proceeding south to Creole; or, alternate spur route,24
extending east from Holmwood on Louisiana Highway 14, through the25
communities of Bell City and Hayes, to Illinois Plant Road, and proceeding26
south on Illinois Plant Road to its termination on Lacassine National Wildlife27
Refuge.28

99 from its intersection with the west bound ramps of I-10 south to its1
intersection with Louisiana Highway 14, including its routing through Welsh;2
Illinois Plant Road from the Jefferson Davis-Cameron Parish line north to its3
intersection with Louisiana Highway 14; along Louisiana Highway 14 from its4
intersection with Illinois Plant Road east to the Jefferson Davis-Vermilion5
Parish line, including its routing through Lake Arthur; along Louisiana6
Highway 3056 from the Jefferson Davis-Cameron Parish line north to its7
intersection with Louisiana Highway 14; Louisiana Highway 26 from its8
intersection with Louisiana Highway 14 north to its intersection with North9
Frontage Road at the Oil and Gas Park north of I-10, including its routing10
through Lake Arthur and Jennings; and US Highway 90 from its intersection11
with Louisiana Highway 99 in Welsh east to its intersection with Louisiana12
Highway 26 in Jennings including its routing through Roanoke. 13
Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not14
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature15
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If16
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become17
effective on the day following such approval.18
