                    John Smith (SB 234)	Act No. 382
Prior law provided that in addition to the court costs authorized by prior law, the mayor of
the town of New Llano, as the presiding officer of the mayor's court, may impose additional
court costs not to exceed $20 for each offense on any defendant convicted of a violation of
a municipal ordinance.
New law increases the additional court cost not to exceed $40 for each offense and requires
that $10 dollars of any additional court costs collected be remitted to the 30
th
 Judicial
District's Indigent Defender's Fund.
Effective upon signature of the governor (May 30, 2014).
