AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 33:448(D), relative to mayor's courts; to provide relative to court2
costs for municipal ordinance violations in the mayor's court of the town of New3
Llano; to provide for the remission of certain funds; and to provide for related4
matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 33:448(D) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7
ยง448. Mayor's court; town of New Llano; establishment; jurisdiction; additional8
court costs9

D. In addition to the court costs authorized by R.S. 33:441, the mayor of the11
town of New Llano, as the presiding officer of the mayor's court of the town of New12
Llano, may impose additional court costs not to exceed twenty forty dollars for each13
offense, as defined by ordinance, on any defendant convicted of a violation of a14
municipal ordinance, provided that ten dollars of any additional court costs15
collected pursuant to this Section shall be remitted to the Thirtieth Judicial16
District's Indigent Defender's Fund.17
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor18
or, if not signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law19
without signature by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the20
Constitution of Louisiana. If vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by21
the legislature, this Act shall become effective on the day following such approval.22
