AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 17:4024, relative to the Student Scholarships for Educational2
Excellence Program; to provide relative to program reporting requirements; to3
require the Department of Education to report annually certain information regarding4
the program to state legislators and certain legislative committees; and to provide for5
related matters.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1.  R.S. 17:4024 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 8
ยง4024.  Reports9
A. The department annually shall report to the Senate Committee on10
Education, the House Committee on Education, and the Joint Legislative Committee11
on the Budget, and each individual legislator regarding the implementation of the12
program, including the number of eligible students receiving scholarships, a list of13
participating schools and the number of scholarship recipients each such school14
enrolled, and aggregate test result data for the scholarship recipients enrolled in each15
participating school. The report, at a minimum, shall include the following16
information:17
(1)  The total number of students receiving scholarships.18
(2)  A list of all schools participating in the program.19
(3)  A list of all schools participating in the program grouped by20
legislative district.21
(4) The total student enrollment of each participating school, the22
number of scholarship recipients enrolled in each school, and the percentage of23
the total enrollment of each school represented by scholarship recipients.24
(5) Aggregate test result data for the scholarship recipients enrolled in25
each participating school.26

B. Not later than April thirtieth of each year, the department shall send1
a printed copy of the report required by this Section to each legislative2
committee as provided in Subsection A of this Section and to each member of3
the legislature.4
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not5
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature6
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If7
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become8
effective on the day following such approval.9
