AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 13:783(D)(7), relative to expenses of the clerks of court; to2
authorize an automobile expense allowance for the clerks of each district court; and3
to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 13:783(D)(7) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6

(7) In Acadia Parish, Bienville Parish, Bossier Parish, Caddo Parish,11
Cameron Parish, Claiborne Parish, DeSoto Parish, East Feliciana Parish, Franklin12
Parish, Iberia Parish, Lincoln Parish, Morehouse Parish, Natchitoches Parish,13
Ouachita Parish, Red River Parish, St. Charles Parish, St. Helena Parish, St. Landry14
Parish, St. Tammany Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, Vermilion Parish, Washington15
Parish, Webster Parish, West Baton Rouge Parish, and West Feliciana Parish, the16
clerks of the district courts of those parishes The clerk of each district court may17
receive an automobile expense allowance equal to fifteen percent of their annual18
salary provided the clerk of court maintains three hundred thousand dollars of19
automobile insurance per accident for bodily injury and one hundred thousand20
dollars of automobile insurance per accident for property damage. The expense21

allowance shall come from surplus funds in each of the offices of the clerks of court1
and at no additional expense to the state or local governing authority.2
