CRIMINAL PROCEDURE. Provides with respect to bail procedures and requirements.

AN ACT1
To amend and reenact Code of Criminal Procedure Article 324(A)(3), relative to cash bonds;2
to expand authority for cash deposit bail; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1. Code of Criminal Procedure Article 324(A)(3) is hereby amended and5
reenacted to read as follows:6

(3) The court in the parishes of St. John the Baptist and St. Charles, by10
written rule, with the consent of the District Attorney, may alter the percentage11
amount of bail to be deposited with the officer authorized to accept the bond and12
authorize the officer to charge an administrative fee, not to exceed fifteen twenty-13
five dollars, for processing the bond.14

Present law authorizes the court in the parishes of St. John the Baptist and St. Charles, by
written rule, to alter the percentage amount of bail to be deposited with the officer authorized
to accept the bond and authorize the officer to charge an administrative fee, not to exceed
$15, for processing the bond.
Proposed law retains present law but expands its applicability to any parish provided the
district attorney consents and increases the maximum administrative fee to $25.
Effective August 1, 2014.
