(8/1/14) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 17:194(D), relative to the administration of nutrition program; to provide for2 simplified acquisition procedures; and to provide for related matters.3 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4 Section 1. R.S. 17:194(D) is hereby enacted to read as follows:5 ยง194. Administration of nutrition program; general powers of governing authorities6 of nutrition program providers; funds for privately supplied programs for7 profit prohibited; exceptions8 * * *9 D. The state Department of Education and any governing authority of10 a nutrition program provider may use the simplified acquisition procedures for11 small purchases up to the Federal Small Purchase Threshold set by 41 U.S.C.12 403(11), in order to support procurement of local agricultural products and the13 USDA Farm to School initiatives. DIGEST Thompson (SB 458) Proposed law authorizes the state Department of Education and any governing authority of a nutrition program provider to use the simplified acquisition procedures for small purchases up to the Federal Small Purchase Threshold set by federal law, in order to support procurement of local agricultural products and the USDA Farm to School initiatives.
