AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 33:9091.15(D)(1) and (3), relative to the Oak Island2
Neighborhood Improvement District; to provide for the governance; to provide for3
commission membership; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for related4
matters.5
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. R.S. 33:9091.15(D)(1) and (3) are hereby amended and reenacted to read8
as follows: 9
ยง9091.15. Oak Island Neighborhood Improvement District10

D. Governance. (1) The district shall be governed by a 	six seven-member12
board of commissioners, referred to in this Section as the "commission," which shall13
be appointed by the board of directors of the Oak Island Neighborhood Association.14
These appointed commissioners shall not be members of the Oak Island15
Neighborhood Association board of directors.  The president of the Oak Island16
Neighborhood Association or his designee shall serve as a member and six17
additional members shall be appointed by the board of directors of the Oak18
Island Neighborhood Association.19

(3)(a) Commissioners appointed by the board of directors of the Oak21
Island Neighborhood Association shall serve two-year terms.22
(b) The president of the Oak Island Neighborhood Association or his23
designee shall serve during his term of office.24

(c) Any vacancy which occurs prior to the expiration of the terms for a1
commissioner shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term in the same2
manner as the original appointment. Commissioners shall be eligible for3
reappointment.4

Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not6
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature7
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If8
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become9
effective on the day following such approval.10
