(6/30/14) AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 42:851(T), relative to group benefits; to provide for premium share; and to2 provide for related matters.3 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4 Section 1. R.S. 42:851(T) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 5 ยง851. Authority for employee benefit programs; payroll deduction for payment of6 premiums7 * * *8 T. DIGEST Gary Smith (SB 613) Present law provides a schedule for state contributions of the total premium payable to the Office of Group Benefits (OGB) for retirees. Provides for a maximum state contribution of 75%. Proposed law retains present law and provides for a 75% state contribution for any person who retired on or after May 1, 2013, and on or before May 31, 2013, who participated in OGB health insurance for more than 18 years, whose doctor certifies that on the date of his retirement he was medically unable to perform his job duties, if the sum of his accumulated unused leave on his retirement date plus his years of participation in OGB, rounded to the nearest year, is 20 years or more.
