Commends the Jesuit High School Blue Jays varsity lacrosse team on winning the 2014 Louisiana state championship. A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To commend the Jesuit High School varsity lacrosse team upon winning the 2014 Louisiana2 High School State Championship.3 WHEREAS, the Jesuit High School varsity lacrosse team completed a sensational4 season,earning the title of 2014 State Champions after defeating St. Paul's High School by5 a score of 11-4 to win the Louisiana State Championship game at St. Thomas More Stadium6 on April 27, 2014; and7 WHEREAS, this is the third consecutive state championship title for the Blue Jays;8 and9 WHEREAS, the championship win was the culmination of another unforgettable10 season; and11 WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence12 throughout the 2014 season and playoffs, and each of these great Blue Jays deserves13 recognition for his vital contributions to the winning effort; and14 WHEREAS, Arman Alizadeh scored four goals, earning the honor of Most Valuable15 Player-Offense; and16 WHEREAS, Eric Wright had eleven saves and held the opposing team to four goals,17 earning the honor of Most Valuable Player-Defense; and18 SCR NO. 120 SLS 14RS-3711 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, Defensive standouts Colby Simoneaux, Paul Stapp, Gray Cressy,1 Tanner Burgess, and Robert Montenegro disrupted St. Paul's scoring: and2 WHEREAS, Thomas Nimmo (3), Cameron Guernsey (2), Jacob Cassagne (1),3 Dominic Sunseri (1) scored goals for the Blue Jays; and4 WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved5 without the guidance and skills of Coach Mike Brantley and his coaches as well as all of the6 other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's lacrosse program; and7 WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2014 season upholds the glorious tradition of the8 Blue Jays, and all Jesuit High School alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and9 distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.10 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby11 commend the Jesuit High School varsity lacrosse team upon winning the 2014 Louisiana12 High School State Championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players,13 coaches, and everyone involved with this outstanding lacrosse program as they celebrate14 their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Coach16 Mike Brantley.17 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Jerry J.
