A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend the Hackberry High School softball team for winning their fourth consecutive
Class C state championship.
WHEREAS, the Hackberry High School softball team, led by pitcher and tournament

WHEREAS, the Hackberry girls, ranked number one, defeated the softball team from
Northside Christian School of Crowley, ranked number eleven, by a score of 10-0; and
WHEREAS, the biggest news from the championship game may have been that the
Lady Mustangs, coached by Angie Little, earned an improbable fourth consecutive Class C
softball state championship; and
WHEREAS, seniors Jolie Trahan, Blair Trahan, D.J. Simon and Mattie Stine were
celebrating their fourth consecutive title, winning the title each year of their high school
careers; and
WHEREAS, in the final game, senior pitcher Jolie Trahan pitched a shutout for the
third time in the tournament, issued fifteen strikeouts, and held Northside Christian to three
hits in the six-inning ten-run-rule win; and
WHEREAS, Jolie earned her award of Most Valuable Player with both her pitching

of the tournament, striking out thirty-five, pitching a perfect game in the quarterfinals, a one-
hitter in the semifinals, and a shutout in the final game; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Mustangs started slowly offensively, scoring their first run in
the third when Jeanne Trahan scored on a wild pitch; and
WHEREAS, in the fifth inning, Mustang Sydney Broussard hit a double, scoring
Jeanne Trahan; in her at bat, Jolie Trahan hit a two-run double, D. J. Simon hit a sacrifice
fly which scored Jolie, and Gracie Duval added an RBI single to left; and
WHEREAS, in the Lady Mustangs sixth inning, Sophomore Brianne Beard hit a two-

Sydney Broussard, Mattie Stine, Gracie Duval, Brianne Beard, Jeanne Trahan, and D.J.
Simon; and
WHEREAS, Blanche Beard and McLain Frey both contributed as courtesy runners
