A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To commend Sarah Ann Holliday for the outstanding leadership she has provided to the2 Louisiana Federation of Republican Women (LFRW) which is a member of the3 National Federation of Republican Women.4 WHEREAS, throughout various leadership roles, Sarah Holliday has provided5 exemplary leadership designed to bring action and results to the organization; and6 WHEREAS, in June 2010 as lead charter member of the Capitol City Republican7 Women's Club, she was the first African-American to serve in that role; and8 WHEREAS, as club president of the Republican Women's Clubs from June 20109 through December 2012, she was the first elected African-American club president; and10 WHEREAS, as the elected vice-president of LFRW for Region Six which serves the11 parishes of Ascension, Iberville, East Baton Rouge, Evangeline, Livingston, Point Coupee,12 St. Landry and West Baton Rouge in May 2011, she became the first African-American13 woman to hold the office since the organization's inception which was founded in 1953; and14 WHEREAS, while serving in these leadership roles she also volunteered for15 numerous other service programs within her community and remained committed to her first16 calling as a Christian, wife and mother; and 17 WHEREAS, the members of the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women seek18 SCR NO. 19 SLS 14RS-870 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 statewide acknowledgment of these various levels of service by Sarah Holliday through this1 special avenue. 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby3 commend and congratulate Sarah Ann Holliday for the exemplary leadership she has4 provided to the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women.5 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Sarah6 Ann Holliday.7 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by Ann S.
