SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 25
BY SENATOR ERDEY AND REPRESENTATI VE POPE
ROADS/HIGHWAYS. Requests DOTD to study improving US 190 to three lanes between
LA 16 and LA 63 in Livingston Parish.
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study improving2
Louisiana Highway US 190 to three lanes between Louisiana Highway 16 and3
Louisiana Highway 63 in Livingston Parish.4
WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway US 190 between Louisiana Highway 16 and5
Louisiana Highway 63 in Livingston Parish is a two-lane roadway and lacks adequate6
shoulders and turn lanes; and7
WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway US 190 serves as an alternate route to Interstate 128
when Interstate 12 is closed due to weather or major accidents; and9
WHEREAS, the North Shore Technical College is being expanded which will10
increase traffic on Louisiana Highway US 190; and11
WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway US 190 needs to be improved from two to three12
lanes to accommodate traffic, to improve traffic flow, and to prevent traffic congestion as13
a result of vehicles making left turns. 14
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby15
request the Department of Transportation and Development to study improving Louisiana16
Highway US 190 to three lanes between Louisiana Highway 16 and Louisiana Highway 6317
in Livingston Parish.18 SCR NO. 25

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana further requests the1
Department of Transportation and Development to submit a written report of its findings and2
recommendations to the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works3
and the House Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works not later than a4
February 1, 2015.5
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the6
secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development.7
