Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2014 ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 25 BY SENATOR ERDEY AND REPRESENTATI VES MACK AND POPE A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To urge and request the Department of Transportation and Development to study improving Louisiana Highway US 190 to three lanes between Louisiana Highway 16 and Louisiana Highway 63 in Livingston Parish. WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway US 190 between Louisiana Highway 16 and Louisiana Highway 63 in Livingston Parish is a two-lane roadway and lacks adequate shoulders and turn lanes; and WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway US 190 serves as an alternate route to Interstate 12 when Interstate 12 is closed due to weather or major accidents; and WHEREAS, the North Shore Technical College is being expanded which will increase traffic on Louisiana Highway US 190; and WHEREAS, Louisiana Highway US 190 needs to be improved from two to three lanes to accommodate traffic, to improve traffic flow, and to prevent traffic congestion as a result of vehicles making left turns. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby request the Department of Transportation and Development to study improving Louisiana Highway US 190 to three lanes between Louisiana Highway 16 and Louisiana Highway 63 in Livingston Parish. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana further requests the Department of Transportation and Development to submit a written report of its findings and recommendations to the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works and the House Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works not later than a February 1, 2015. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development.
