A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To urge and request that the Department of Health and Hospitals and the Department of2
Children and Family Services coordinate efforts to improve the accuracy of the3
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, particularly with respect to having the4

must meet standards relative to their present resources, including such assets as a bank10
account balance and their current income; and11
WHEREAS, DCFS reports that currently over three hundred seventy thousand cases,12
both families and individuals, receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition13
Assistance Program in Louisiana; and14
WHEREAS, while DCFS has been recognized nationally for its accuracy in the food15
stamps program as recently as 2008, issues remain particularly with respect to removing16
deceased recipients from the list of eligible recipients.17
