Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 7 BY SENATOR LAFLEUR AND REPRESENTATIVE HILL A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend the Kinder High School Yellow Jackets on winning the Class 2A state football championship. WHEREAS, "do what we do" is the adage the Kinder High School football team has lived and played by during each football game; and WHEREAS, in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the Yellow Jackets put their percept to work, using it as impetus to move pass a two-point deficit to number one ranked Class 2A team, Many High School; and WHEREAS, Head Coach Bret Fuselier indicated his players buckled down, ran the football, and played extraordinary defense; and WHEREAS, an eighty-seven-yard drive provided the Yellow Jackets with a six-point lead with less than two minutes left to play, followed by an interception, their fourth of the game, before junior tailback, Jordan Vickers, scored his second touchdown in the remaining minute to secure Kinder's thirty-four to twenty win over Many; and WHEREAS, the championship victory came on day two of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Farm Prep Classic in New Orleans, Louisiana, earning Kinder its third state title in school history and first since 1978; and WHEREAS, true support and belief were demonstrated by the coaching staff, knowing their young players would never waiver in their hard fought victory; and WHEREAS, Jordan Vicker, awarded the Most Outstanding Player award, finished with one hundred ninety-six yards and three touchdowns on twenty-seven carries; and WHEREAS, along with Coach Fuselier, additional team management and reinforcement came from Assistant Coaches, Tyler Chachere, Kenny Courville, Mark Dronet, Jarrett Granger, Cody Gueringer, Jeremy Manuel, Skip Pickle, and Baron Thomas; Manager, Philip Bell; Trainers, Lexie Peoples, Chance Savant, and Karleigh Perkins; Student Managers, Zack Hall and Cole Hebert; Athletic Secretaries, Julie Buller and Pat Odom; and Filmers, Roy Nash and Ryan Nash; and SCR NO. 7 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, other proud supporters of the team, along with the entire student body, are Kinder Principal, Loma Bertrand, and Assistant Principals, Melody LaFleur and Charley Lemons; and WHEREAS, the Yellow Jacket Class 2A state championship roster included Trevyn Chaney, Derric Ceasar, Greg Mayfield, Khalil LeBlanc, Wallace Burns, Kade Andrews, Jared Rider, Mason Smith, Bryce Baker, Garrett Battaglia, Austin Pickle, Welles Cooley, Bradley Ashworth, DC Arceneaux, Sammy Bruchhaus, Leonard Williams, Taylor Johnson, Traven Guillory, Jermaine Huntsberry, Jordan Vickers, Kagen Pitre, Matthew Fontenot, Zach Rider, Trenton Kirklin, Jeremy Sylestine, Josh Harmon, Benjamin LaBuff, Robert Bruchhaus, Collin Williams, Josh Morehead, Casey Edwards, Dylan Bedsole, Lelande Evans, Kenneth Battaglia, Ian Odom, Kris Nelson, Alex LeBlanc, Colby Oliver, Isiah Sanders, Juan Carranza, and Drew Riley. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Kinder High School Yellow Jackets on winning the Class 2A state football championship.
