SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 99

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To commend Save Our Wildlife Management Areas, LLC, for its work in protecting and
preserving the state's wildlife management areas.
WHEREAS, because of its natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and outdoor recreation
culture, Louisiana is known around the world as a true sportsmen's paradise; and
WHEREAS, for centuries, sportsmen have embraced the quiet tranquility, spiritual
serenity, and soothing solitude of hunting and fishing and our great outdoors; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to preserve and protect its treasured wildlife and to provide
the public with accessible hunting lands, the state created wildlife management areas; and
WHEREAS, Save Our Wildlife Management Areas, LLC, brings together like-
minded sportsmen, conservationists, and concerned citizens who want to save, preserve, and
improve the state's public hunting lands and the wildlife that inhabits those lands; and
WHEREAS, as part of their efforts of protection and preservation, Save Our Wildlife
Management Areas, LLC, aims to promote and provide research, convey the concerns of
sportsmen, offer advisory assistance to the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, offer
educational opportunities and information to sportsmen and governmental agencies, and
establish cooperative programs between the private sector and the government; and
WHEREAS, the organization collaborates with other agencies and groups to gather
as much information as possible to aid in the establishment of sound wildlife management
practices; and
WHEREAS, because of the Save Our Wildlife Management Areas, LLC, sportsmen
and conservationist can be assured their voices and concerns will be heard, and that private
citizens are collaborating to protect and preserve the state's wildlife, hunting, and fishing

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate Save Our Wildlife Management Areas, LLC, for its efforts in
preserving and protecting the state's wildlife and public hunting lands so that all its citizens
have access to participate in our rich and traditional sportsmen culture.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Save
Our Wildlife Management Areas, LLC.
