A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to the
family of United States Marine Corps Private Trey J. Jewell upon his death while
serving his country in Japan.
WHEREAS, Trey J. Jewell was a native of Swartz, Louisiana, and attended Ouachita
Parish High School; and
WHEREAS, Trey enlisted in the United States Marine Corps immediately after high
school and was determined to excel as a Marine; he was very happy when he achieved that
goal and made all those who loved him deeply proud of his accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Private Trey Jewell trained hard and earned the job of Intelligence
Analyst and was soon on overseas duty in Okinawa, Japan, where he steadfastly served his
country and the Marine Corps with great dedication; and
WHEREAS, Private Jewell was nineteen years old when he tragically and
unexpectedly passed away July 14, 2013, while still stationed in Okinawa.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby extend its most profound condolences to the family of U.S.M.C. Private Trey
J. Jewell upon his untimely death while serving in his country's armed forces and the great
loss that his loved ones now suffer.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
family of U.S.M.C. Private Trey J. Jewell.
