SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 136
BY SENATORS DORSEY-COLOMB, ALARI O AND BROOME
COMMENDATIONS. Commends LSU gymnastics head coach D-D Breaux upon being
named National Coach of the Year and assistant coaches, Jay Clark and Bob Moore, upon
being named National Assistant Coaches of the Year.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend D-D Breaux, the LSU gymnastics coach for being named National Coach of2
the Year and assistant coaches Jay Clark and Bob Moore for being named National3
Assistant Coaches of the Year.4
WHEREAS, on April 21, 2014, D-D Breaux was voted National Coach of the Year5
by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastic Coaches/Women, and Jay Clark and6
Bob Moore shared National Assistant Coach of the Year honors; and7
WHEREAS, D-D Breaux has been the Tigers' head coach for thirty-seven seasons,8
and the award for National Coach of the Year was voted on by all Division I women's9
gymnastics head coaches; and10
WHEREAS, the team of coaches led LSU to the highest national finish in the history11
of the program when the Tigers claimed third place in the Super Six finals with a score of12
197.600, the thirteenth consecutive competition in which LSU scored at least a 197 this13
season, shattering the old school record of eight in a row; and14
WHEREAS, the Tigers earned the nation's top ranking for a three-week stretch in late15
February and early March, and the first time LSU had achieved a No. 1 national ranking in16
the sport since 2005; LSU broke the school's all-time scoring mark three times this season;17

WHEREAS, LSU won the NCAA Baton Rouge regional with a 198.325, which tied1
the highest score in the nation this season, and the team qualified for the national semifinals2
for the twenty-fifth time in Breaux's tenure; and3
WHEREAS, Clark coached the uneven bars lineup to the No. 1 ranking in the region4
and the No. 5 national ranking, and Moore coached the vault lineup to the No. 1 national5
ranking.6
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana7
does hereby commend and congratulate LSU gymnastics coaches D-D Breaux, Jay Clark,8
and Bob Moore for being honored as National Coach and Assistant Coaches of the Year.9
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to10
Coach D-D Breaux, Coach Jay Clark, and Coach Bob Moore.11
