A RESOLUTION
To commend D-D Breaux, the LSU gymnastics coach for being named National Coach of
the Year and assistant coaches Jay Clark and Bob Moore for being named National
Assistant Coaches of the Year.
WHEREAS, on April 21, 2014, D-D Breaux was voted National Coach of the Year
by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastic Coaches/Women, and Jay Clark and
Bob Moore shared National Assistant Coach of the Year honors; and
WHEREAS, D-D Breaux has been the Tigers' head coach for thirty-seven seasons,
and the award for National Coach of the Year was voted on by all Division I women's
gymnastics head coaches; and
WHEREAS, the team of coaches led LSU to the highest national finish in the history
of the program when the Tigers claimed third place in the Super Six finals with a score of
197.600, the thirteenth consecutive competition in which LSU scored at least a 197 this
season, shattering the old school record of eight in a row; and
WHEREAS, the Tigers earned the nation's top ranking for a three-week stretch in late
February and early March, and the first time LSU had achieved a No. 1 national ranking in
the sport since 2005; LSU broke the school's all-time scoring mark three times this season;
and
WHEREAS, LSU won the NCAA Baton Rouge regional with a 198.325, which tied
the highest score in the nation this season, and the team qualified for the national semifinals
for the twenty-fifth time in Breaux's tenure; and
WHEREAS, Clark coached the uneven bars lineup to the No. 1 ranking in the region
and the No. 5 national ranking, and Moore coached the vault lineup to the No. 1 national

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate LSU gymnastics coaches D-D Breaux, Jay Clark,
and Bob Moore for being honored as National Coach and Assistant Coaches of the Year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Coach D-D Breaux, Coach Jay Clark, and Coach Bob Moore.
