SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 163

A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of Corey Eugene Gueho.
WHEREAS, it is with great sadness that the members of the Senate of the Legislature
of Louisiana have learned of the untimely death of Corey Eugene Gueho on
September 9, 2013, at age thirty-two; and
WHEREAS, a native and resident of Fordoche, Louisiana, he was a court room
security deputy with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office; and
WHEREAS, Corey Gueho was preceded in death by twin brother, Cody Gueho,
maternal grandparents, Lois and Eugene Allen, and paternal grandparents Fred Sr. and
Delta B. Gueho; and
WHEREAS, he was diagnosed with leukemia, a disease he was familiar with having
lost his twin brother, Cody, to it eighteen years earlier; and
WHEREAS, after his twin brother was diagnosed with leukemia, Corey Gueho began
organizing fund raisers in 1995 raising approximately ten thousand dollars each year for the
past thirteen years with the majority of the money being donated to St. Jude Children's
Hospital in memory of Cody as well as to local cancer patients and the Janell Lacombe
Fund; and
WHEREAS, he also took children, who were cancer patients, on hunting trips and
would volunteer to assist others with fund raisers in the community, for any reason,
especially those for cancer victims; and
WHEREAS, Corey Gueho was an avid hunter, dedicated LSU and New Orleans
Saints fan, and a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend; and
WHEREAS, he is survived by his wife of ten years, Chrissy D. Gueho; one year old
son, Carson Cody Gueho; parents, Fred and Kathy Gueho; father-in-law Danny David; sister,
Crystal Gueho Lorio and husband Michael; brother, Chris (Popsicle) Gueho and wife Stacie; SR NO. 163	ENROLLED

nieces, Erica Gabor, Maddie Lorio, Mallory Bonaventure, and Harper White; nephews,
Mikey Lorio, Jacob Gabor, Derek Gabor, and Matthew L orio; cousin,
Ronnie Bonaventure Jr., and numerous other cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends; and
WHEREAS, Corey Gueho was described as a big man with a bigger heart, a true
gentleman, a people person, and a fine young man whose family meant everything to him;
and
WHEREAS, the death of Corey Eugene Gueho has left a great void and created a
genuine sense of sorrow in his family, his friends, and all who had the opportunity to know
him.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express sincere condolences upon the death of Corey Eugene Gueho, does
hereby recognize and record for posterity his accomplishments and singular contributions,
and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the pride and honor that this extraordinary
man will forever bring to his family and friends, community, and state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Chrissy D. Gueho.
