SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 17
BY SENATOR BROWN 
COMMENDATIONS.  Commends Ms. Alberdia Jones on her many accomplishments.
A RESOLUTION1
To commend and congratulate Ms. Alberdia Jones on her many accomplishments and2
achievements.3
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to4
recognize and commend Ms. Alberdia Jones for her decades of service to her community5
throughout her Christian journey; and6
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones was born in the village of Peterville, Louisiana, and attended7
school in Assumption Parish; and8
WHEREAS, she accepted Christ as her savior in 1947 as she began her walk with9
Christ at Virginia Baptist Church in Belle Rose, Louisiana, under the leadership of the late10
Reverend F.D. Southall; and11
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones is currently exercising her faith as a member of the Sunday12
School bible class, the director of the Mass Choir, youth director of the Ferman Bernard13
Gospel Inspirations, and by serving as secretary for thirty years; and14
WHEREAS, she is also a member of the Louisiana Southern Baptist Association of15
the Fifth District Choir and Women's Auxiliary; and16
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones often shares Christ with others by visiting nursing homes17
with the youth department and by being a devoted woman of God to her ministry18 SR NO. 17

responsibilities and to her family; and1
WHEREAS, she expresses the love of Christ by being there always for any of her2
spiritual brothers and sisters, and she exemplifies Proverbs 31:10-31 because she is a3
virtuous woman, her worth is far above rubies, and she is priceless; and4
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones is a prayer warrior who also ministers to, counsels, and5
advises others rendering sound spiritual advice to those in need, and is a source of inspiration6
to all; and7
WHEREAS, she loves to cook and prepares each meal with love and is willing to8
feed anyone who is hungry because she truly believes as the song says, "If I can help9
somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain".10
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana11
does hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Alberdia Jones on her many accomplishments,12
achievements, and for the many lives that she touches throughout her walk with Christ.13
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Ms.14
Alberdia Jones.15
