SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 17
BY SENATOR BROWN 
A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Ms. Alberdia Jones on her many accomplishments and
achievements.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana to
recognize and commend Ms. Alberdia Jones for her decades of service to her community
throughout her Christian journey; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones was born in the village of Peterville, Louisiana, and attended
school in Assumption Parish; and
WHEREAS, she accepted Christ as her savior in 1947 as she began her walk with
Christ at Virginia Baptist Church in Belle Rose, Louisiana, under the leadership of the late
Reverend F.D. Southall; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones is currently exercising her faith as a member of the Sunday
School bible class, the director of the Mass Choir, youth director of the Ferman Bernard
Gospel Inspirations, and by serving as secretary for thirty years; and
WHEREAS, she is also a member of the Louisiana Southern Baptist Association of
the Fifth District Choir and Women's Auxiliary; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones often shares Christ with others by visiting nursing homes
with the youth department and by being a devoted woman of God to her ministry
responsibilities and to her family; and
WHEREAS, she expresses the love of Christ by being there always for any of her
spiritual brothers and sisters, and she exemplifies Proverbs 31:10-31 because she is a
virtuous woman, her worth is far above rubies, and she is priceless; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Jones is a prayer warrior who also ministers to, counsels, and
advises others rendering sound spiritual advice to those in need, and is a source of inspiration

WHEREAS, she loves to cook and prepares each meal with love and is willing to
feed anyone who is hungry because she truly believes as the song says, "If I can help
somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain".
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Alberdia Jones on her many accomplishments,
achievements, and for the many lives that she touches throughout her walk with Christ.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Ms.
Alberdia Jones.
