Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2014 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 190 BY SENATORS BROOME AND DORSEY-COLOMB A RESOLUTION To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the passing of Mamie Lee Wilson. WHEREAS, it is with great sadness and profound sorrow that the members of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana have learned of the passing of Mamie Lee Wilson on May 25, 2014, at age seventy-eight; and WHEREAS, a native of Ethel and resident of Baton Rouge, Mamie Lee Wilson was a retired secretary from Gillis Long Hanson Disease Center in Carville, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, she served three years in the United States Army and three years in the United States Air Force; and WHEREAS, Mamie Lee Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Leila Wilson; and three brothers, Arthur, John Earl, and Woodrow Wilson; and WHEREAS, she is survived by her sisters, Mattie Armstrong, Zearlee Milligan, and Mearlee W. Chaney; one brother, Willie Hawkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and WHEREAS, with her passing, a tremendous void is left in her community and in this state; but her love, smile, and personality will be forever remembered by her relatives and friends and all who had the opportunity to meet and know her. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of Mamie Lee Wilson on the occasion of her death and does hereby record for posterity that Mamie Lee Wilson made an indelible mark on her family, her community, and this state. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the family of Mamie Lee Wilson. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
